The lilac?
Or the periwinkle?
Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for your input!
Dusty words lying under carpets,
seldom heard, well must you keep your secrets
locked inside, hidden deep from view?

I do believe I like the periwinkle best. I think it is more in keeping with the other colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle. I really like the periwinkle, too, but... well, I'll explain in an update post.
DeleteDefinitely the periwinkle would be my choice. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dita! I think periwinkle is winning popular opinion!
DeletePeriwinkle is best. Am tatting a varigatetd blue doiley for my Mom's birthday, and watching grandkids, so very busy. You make beautiful quilts. Love you.
ReplyDeleteOh, Susan, I hope you'll share photos when you get done. I bet it's going to be beautiful!!! Thank you for the kind words and the vote!
DeletePeriwinkle definatly.
ReplyDeleteYou only get one vote. ;)
DeleteThe Lilac says "hello" The Periwinkle says "HERE I AM!"
ReplyDeleteI like the Lilac better. Not so, in your face, check me out, kind of color.
Thanks, Rebecca. I think you've best said what I felt, and I wasn't sure, so thank you for explaining it so eloquently!
DeleteThe first is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteYay, Karen! One vote for my gut instinct!
DeletePeriwinkle for me too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peg. I think I'm going to have to make a second quilt and use the periwinkle...
DeleteI vote for the periwinkle, but I must give full disclosure, and say that it is my favorite color, so I might be a little "biased." :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm did you cut any of the fabric on the bias? That would have been a truly good pun! If not, then carry on, my face is red, head hung low....I should leave the joke telling to the professionals. :)
Blessings always friend. :)
Ha ha, Stitchy! Puns always appreciated here! The strips are not cut on the bias, but the entire French braid border will be bias! Do not hang your head low!
DeleteBoth look nice, but I prefer the periwinkle.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Krista!
Deletepartial to the periwinkle....either are very nice, and you can't go wrong in either decision...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Faith. I hope so!
DeleteI like the lilac because it allows you to see all of the pattern as a whole. With the periwinkle, you see that periwinkle border first. Then the rest. It draws the eye too much for me. :) But, hay, I'm a goat. What do I know? :)
ReplyDeleteMarigold, you're another who saw it my way. Maybe I have goat vision...
DeleteI like the lilac!
ReplyDeleteYay, Deni! Another vote for what I see!
DeleteLilac. So much more calm and relaxed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anonymous. I hadn't thought of it like that, but I think you're absolutely right.
Deletethe lilac makes the whole seem balanced.. the periwinkle frames the center of the quilt kinda like a matting effect. I definitely like the lilac better as it makes the quit one whole piece instead of 3 distinct sections.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jody. That is another interesting viewpoint and a thought I had not considered.
Deleteoh goodness... i must choose?! both are lovely but 'say' different things, so it all depends on what message you want to convey! Either 'looks' perfect, now, what 'story' are you telling? I know, I'm no help at all! Love and prayers dear Deborah!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cara! I do love both. It was such a hard choice! I'm glad I don't have to make a choice like that again for a while!
DeleteI'm voting for periwinkle!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy! I went with the lilac, but I'm thinking if I have enough scraps left over when I'm done, I should make another quilt, even if a mini one, to do the periwinkle contrast because it is so beautiful.
