Dusty words lying under carpets,
seldom heard, well must you keep your secrets
locked inside, hidden deep from view?
You can talk to me... (Stevie Nicks)

haha sure say the lavender dream came to be there at your sea
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed it did, Pat! And snowy, too!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Charlotte!
DeleteLovely dress. Love the lavender.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nudge!
DeleteWow...I love the purple and snowflakes together. So very pretty. :) Happy New Year sweet friend. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stitchy! And a very happy 2015 to you, too!
DeleteThose are my kind of Christmas lights! And fabric!
ReplyDeleteWow, I like the way you pieced the bodice.
Hope you guys had a great Christmas! :)
Thank you, Sue! I cheated! The bodice is not pieced. That's shimmering Artisan Spirit, I think, and I absolutely fell in love with the fabric. It's the inspiration for the dress.
DeleteOh how pretty, it looks gorgeous and very festive!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carie!
DeleteI am not much at making clothes but I love this dress. Is there a pattern?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Daytona! No, there is not really a pattern, but it wouldn't be difficult to come up with one, I think. I did use a bodice pattern from a dress I knew fit well, and I pieced 2 sets of 18 2.5-inch jelly roll strips into what essentially would have been lap quilts, then sewed them together to form the skirt and gathered them at the top to attach them to the bodice. I'd done this a few years ago to use up the fabric from dresses I'd made and worn out over the years, and it makes for a very warm dress in winter, so I decided to make another one with a Christmas theme.
Deletewunderschön das Kleid und ein guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!
ReplyDeleteGruss Elke
Thank you, Geistige! A very happy new year to you, too!
DeleteBeautimous! Now we need to go back and re-shoot in tomorrows snow.
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't going to be so darned cold, Lizard, maybe we could... Although if we wait for warmth, it won't be until December 2016...
DeleteLove this. I am crazy for purple and with snow flakes. What a win win.
ReplyDeleteWhy, thank you, Di! I'm still crazy about all the purples, three months later. I can't wait to see what else I can design with these fabrics!
