When I walked into the grocery store after Christmas, I was pleasantly overcome by the most beautiful hyacinth aroma. I couldn't resist. I had to bring one home. Or five... (The Lizard said the pot full of bulbs was a better deal than one bulb in a glass vase, even though those glass vases of heavenly aroma are so incredibly beautiful!)
I didn't invest, but the grocery store had the most beautiful blue orchids, too.
It will be a while, quite a while, before my outside garden bulbs dig out...
Inside flowers in winter are such a great source of beauty, inspiration and happiness.
My five-year-old neighbor gave me this for Christmas. Although I don't know yet what they will be, I suspect daffodils or tulips...
Indoor flowers in winter also are another fantastic way to demonstrate the difference between an iPhone, a point-and-shoot and a professional-grade DSLR camera.

ReplyDeleteAren't they gorgeous, Pat??? I'd love to take one of those home with me one day!
DeleteThey certainly brighten my day!! And, only a month and a half until official shorts season.
ReplyDeleteHey, I think there's a song in there too. Bear with me.

Shorts season... I'm ready and waiting this year! But we still haven't been cross-country skiing yet this season!!!
DeleteIt took me a minute to realise that all those bulbs in vases were NOT yours! (I could totally see you having dozens of bulbs sitting around indoors like that.)
ReplyDeleteThose blue orchids look just like the ones I saw - of course they immediatly made me think of you. :)
Amazing what a difference in colour between the different camera shots.
Oh, you don't know how much I'd love to have that many hyacinths inside my house, Sue! But some of the outdoors ones are beginning to be fooled into Indian Spring... they are popping up through the snow! IN JANUARY!!!
