That was hard.

Through the eyes of other riders...
I think Grand Mesa is the hardest ride in the state, excluding the drivable 14ers of Mount Evans and Pikes Peak. Because of the heat at lower elevations, Grand Mesa may have been harder than the 14ers on that day. Nonetheless, it's always a grunt.
ReplyDeleteI'm still huffing and puffing a week later!!! I've always thought Pikes Peak was the hardest, but the heat on the Mesa that day really did get to me. I think it may have taken over that top spot.
DeleteThanks for being there for me all week long!
Wow, that is a long day. Congrats on making it through
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat. It was indeed my longest cycling day so far. I hope I don't ever have to do another one that long. :)
DeleteOh so gorgeous!!!! And congrats on an awesome performance ( the 100 + mile ride)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alycia! I wish I had taken more photos. But then I guess I'd have been on the bike 16 or 18 hours... :)
DeleteWhew - what a ride! You are a trooper. Congratulations again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue! That was one of the toughest climbs I've ever done, if not THE toughest...
