I took the advice of AmyScrapSpot and Jean Belle and added one more round of half-square triangles to the quilt top for cousin Noah. Noah's quilt is one of seven quilts I had hoped to finish by Thanksgiving but now have conceded might not be done until Christmas. I had hoped to deliver the quilts during Thanksgiving, but I'll probably have to mail them because I don't think there's any way they will be done by November 23 now.
Before The New Border
Noah will be a teenager soon, so I'm really glad I added nearly 10 inches more the width AND the length, and the Kona Gray Matter charm squares I previously didn't incorporate into the main body of the top really add some depth and dimension, I think. Thank you, ladies, for confirming what I thought might be a better plan!
I typically like to run humorous blog posts on Fridaysbut I didn't get this top done in time to share it on Thursday. Nevertheless, I did find something cute and humorous to spice up today's blog post. I saw this gorgeous little gem at the park and ride, and, well, golly, why haven't I ever thought about doing this to my car?!?

haha I figured that was your car, someone was trying to upstage you in snowflakes car wise anyway, can't have that.
ReplyDeleteHa! Isn't that THE most perfect car, Pat?!?
DeleteI like that quilt! It is very "teenagery" ;-) And the car - do it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alycia! Maybe I should decorate my car with crocheted snowflakes!!! :)
DeleteThe quilt is gorgeous! All those neutrals really seem perfect for an almost teenager :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Leanne! As much as I like color, I think this is one of the cooler quilt tops I've finished this year!
DeleteNoah's quilt looks AWESOME!! What a lucky boy1
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joy! I really hope he will like it!
Deletelove the quilt. I really want to do a gray one eventually
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yanicka! I would like to do another one some day, too, but not for a boy. I'd like to do something similar, but throw in a couple of splashes of pink or purple. :)
DeleteA LOT of depth and dimension - it takes the quilt to an amazing new level. It really sparkles now - not in a girly, glittery way, but in a hard, pure, gemlike way - which is very appropriate for a guy quilt! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue! I've got it sandwiched now and can't wait to start quilting!
