And just like that, the first of nine boy quilts by Christmas is done! This quilt is made entirely of leftovers. Even the batting is scrappy. I used up all my 6- and 8-inch battling strips on this project.
We've had smoke from the fires out west this week. Makes for magnificent sunrise and sunset photos, but prayers going out to the firefighters who are working around the clock with no rain and no snow.
Linking up with Busy Hands Quilts, Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Crazy Mom Quilts.
Congrats on getting #1 complete. The first shots with the background were grand indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat! Hate the fires, but love the color of the sunrises and sunsets!
DeleteLove this quilt. It's perfect for a boy (or for anyone!). I too like to piece together scraps of batting - that's what quilting is all about! Making the most of what you have. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you piece batting, too, Sue... Another way we are twins from different mothers!
DeleteCongrats! on your newly completed quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joy! I'm having fun (so far) trying to knock them all out of the park!
DeleteThat's a darling quilt. It just proves that sometimes simple designs are the best! I piece my batting pieces, too. I hate to waste anything!
ReplyDeleteSandy, I'm so glad to hear others go to the trouble of piecing batting, too. I did see a cool quilt-as-you-go project the other day I might incorporate to use up some of the smaller pieces...
DeleteLovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Myra!
