I was SO excited this week when I counted up finished quilts and WIPs and discovered I need only one more quilt top for my goal of 15 quilts, 9 for boys, by Christmas (or preferably, if I can pull it off, by Thanksgiving). The 6 girl quilts are all done. In fact, I finished 7. I hadn't been counting. Now two of the boy quilts are completely done.
This one took up just about all the rest of the blue batik leftovers in my stash. Good reason to rebuild the stash when I get done with this project.
I had enough leftover 2.5-inch strips I'd cut from a once 2-yard piece after finishing the top, I decided to go ahead and use the rest as binding, even though I like my bindings to be just a bit wider. I'm not disappointed at all in how the binding turned out, and I still have about four more feet of 2.5-inch strip!

The blue is grand indeed. Always great when you realize you are close to the finish line.
ReplyDeleteSo close, I can feel it, Pat! I'm pretty excited! And I do really like the blues in this one.
DeleteLove the outcome, beautiful blue. Greetings!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Blogoratti. The blues really do go well together.
DeleteNice to be done or close. Love batiks and blue. Good combo.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy! I will have to rebuild my blue batik stash after this year because I've pretty much exhausted the whole supply!
DeleteI have been on a "blue" kick lately with my projects. This quilt definitely catches my eye. It is beautiful! Congratulations on all of those finishes. Just one more to go! Happy sewing! Andrea
ReplyDeleteThank you, Andrea! Just one more top to piece, but six more finished tops need to be sandwiched and quilted. I am making progress though! Can't wait to see your blue projects!
