Six years ago this month, I joined the Over The Bars Scar Club (for the the third time in my life) when some teenage boys knocked a fence post down right in front of me. I thought the cast on my arm was the worst thing that happened, except for a broken camera filter.

Three months later, after successfully but painfully completing Ride the Rockies, I learned I had also crushed a disc in my back. It took a LONG time, but I finally was able to get back on my bike and work up to full-day rides again.

A year ago this month, I got taken off my bike (and my camera and my crochet hook and my computer mouse) again because it was discovered I have two collapsed discs in my neck.
I'm back up to 25 miles on my bike now, and I can crochet, mouse, take pictures and even run 1/8th of a mile. I won't stop until I'm stronger than I've ever been.
Ooh woo hoo
Ooh woo hoo

The best way to be. Keep on a going and getting stronger. One just has to remember not to over do it and cause the injury to flare.
ReplyDeleteWhat!?!?! Are you reading my mind?!? :) More sore today than I’ve been all year, probably due to some work in the garden last weekend...
DeleteYou go girl!
ReplyDeleteAnd ditto to Pat's comment above. Be careful too. :)
Thanks, Sue! Gotta be like you and just keep going, even when it's tough!
