... with nowhere to go!
I've wanted to finish this dress since about July so I could wear it for home church. I finally sat down to the sewing machine and finished the final two seams last Saturday.
Then wore it for home church on Sunday.
Then, because I could, I wore it when I took Lizard back to the neurosurgeon for his 12-week checkup.
I had to pick up one of his prescriptions on the way home, and women in the grocery store stopped me (from a distance) to tell me how much they love my dress.
What great motivation to finish the quilt I started during the summer to use up more of those green batik leftovers!

Great when you can finish and get great compliments too. Turned out grand indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat! It is fun to wear! Even just at home!
DeleteThis is so vibrant and beautiful! Wow.
ReplyDelete(And your hair has gotten so long!)
Thank you, Sue! Oh, did you make me laugh! I've cut off two inches twice, and yet, everyone keeps saying it's getting so long. I like long, but it's getting SO thin!!! Wish my waist would follow suit!!!
DeleteYour dress is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen! I do love it!
DeleteCongrats on completing your dress!! Such a collection of gorgeous batiks on a wearable display. Looking forward to the quilt finish, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joy! I've missed my goal of finishing one quilt each month this quarter, but I'm really going to try to catch up over the four-day weekend...
DeleteYea for completing your dress! And, double yea for wearing it when you actually made it out in public.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bonnie! It was fun to wear in public; I don't go out much at all these days. But it was really fun to wear at home, too!
DeleteIt is amazing - and!! it brings such light into a crazy time!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alycia! I hadn't thought about that, but you're right! It did really brighten my mood about having to leave the house!
