Here we are, halfway through October, and I'm just now realizing, "Oh, yeah, this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!" It used to be a very big deal to me, and I'd paint my blog pink and do a pink snowflake. I've been so focused on autumn leaves, I forgot all about October. Turns out there are some pink leaves out there, though!
I've seen some gorgeous pink in leaves throughout my years of gold-chasing.
And autumn features other pinks...
You may do whatever you'd like with leaves you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!

Round 2: Turning to work across bottom of Row 1, 3 sc in same ch as last sc, 1 sc in bottom of next sc, 1 hdc in bottom of next sc, 1 dc in bottom of next 4 sc, 1 hdc in bottom of next sc; turning to work back across top of Row 1, 4 sc in bottom of next sc, 1 sc in next sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 4 sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 1 sc in next st; sl st in next sc; to make stem, ch 6, 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch, sl st in each of next 2 ch; sl st in next sc; bind off. Weave in ends.
I wanted to make a headband, scrunchie or necklace without cutting the thread by continuing after finishing one first leaf but didn't have time. The technique does work, though. For the scrunchie, I did the stem sc around a hairband as well as the ch spaces. Here are modified instructions for Round 2 should you desire to experiment.
Multiple Leaf Round 2: Turning to work across bottom of Row 1, 3 sc in same ch as last sc, 1 sc in bottom of next sc, 1 hdc in bottom of next sc, 1 dc in bottom of next 4 sc, 1 hdc in bottom of next sc; turning to work back across top of Row 1, 4 sc in bottom of next sc, 1 sc in next sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 1 dc in each of next 4 sc, 1 hdc in next sc, 1 sc in next st; sl st in next sc*; to make stem, ch 6, 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch, sl st in each of next 2 ch; sl st tightly in next sc. Second Leaf and Beyond: Ch 11, 12 OR 13 (I varied the number of ch in between each leaf), repeat Row 1.
Repeat Round 2 and Row 1 to desired length, ending with Round 2.
Stem: After final leaf, sl st in next sc, [sc in next connecting ch (or in each of next connecting ch), one more sc around connecting ch, 1 sc in next leaf], repeat bracketed instructions to end of project; bind off. Weave in ends.
Finish: This project does not necessarily need to be shaped, but instructions are provided for your convenience. Tape wax paper or plastic wrap to top of empty pizza box. Pin leaf to box on top of wax paper or plastic wrap.
If using glue, mix a few drops of water with a teaspoon of glue in small washable container. Paint snowflake with glue mixture or desired stiffener. Wash paintbrush and container thoroughly. Allow leaf to dry at least 24 hours. Remove pins. Gently peel leaf from wax paper or plastic wrap. Attach 10-inch clear thread to stem, weaving in end. Wrap fishing line around tree branch (or tape to ceiling or any overhead surface) and watch leaf twirl freely whenever you walk by! Leaf also may be taped to window or tied to doorknob or cabinet handle.
