The weather has been warm enough a few times I could begin preparing my garden for the coming season. Last weekend, I discovered more than a handful of larkspur coming up in the rocks on the edge of our yard and the edge of the neighbor's yard where they aren't supposed to be. Snow shoveled high during December and January storms had finally melted, perhaps giving last year's seeds permission to thrive.
I painstakingly dug up as many of the volunteers as I could and put them in a pot, which now occupies a morning sun-bathed shelf in my living room. I wasn't sure these babies would be happy with being moved. Beats buying more seed, though, right?
Hallelujah! Spring comes early at the Snowcatcher abode!
Yay! Survive and thrive, little larkspurs!
