Snowflake Monday

I'm continuing my Mount Wilson theme this month with the catchy trail name that leads Mount Wilson, Wilson Peak and Gladstone Peak. This is just too fun a name to skip! Do you remember the song? Yes, the church one, too, which I also love, but, Def Leppard... What?!? There's a movie, too???

Long before we met, Lizard climbed the San Miguel/Lizard Head Wilderness 14ers and I drove up the Dunton Road once or twice. I always thought I'd get to climb at least one of the San Miguel 14ers (Wilson Peak, because Mount Wilson and El Diente may be too difficult for me) with Lizard, but neither of us expected the big turn our lives took. So, my 14er quilt includes photos from Lizard's hike, and I'll just have to enjoy the view through his photos.

Lone Cone is another peak nearby both of us thought we'd get to climb together one day. Not likely now, but it sure is a cool-looking mountain! (top center of the photo below)

While searching for historial background on the Rock of Ages mine, for which the San Miguel trail is named, I came upon this gem, courtesy of Rex Nye, whose profile avatar reminds me a bit of Indiana Jones. How fitting! (I could find no information on who named the Rock of Ages mine, only that it didn't produce much ore and was sold several times because it had no gold or silver.) Come, follow me in a virtual hike up the scenic Rock of Ages trail...

How about that! We climbed a 14er and didn't even have to stop to catch our breath!!! Ha ha!

My prototype snowflake was not quite big enough to cover a CD. So I had to play with the pattern a bit...

You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy!
